UIC Student Leadership and Civic Engagement is accepting applications for Student Mentors to help guide the leadership exploration of first- and second-year UIC students in the IGNITE Leadership Experience. The ideal mentor will have some leadership experience and, most importantly, be committed to engaging with leadership on a personal, academic, and professional level. IGNITE Student Mentors will gain confidence in their interpersonal, facilitation, and advising skills – all critical areas of need for graduate school and the workforce.
Requirements for IGNITE Leadership Experience – Student Mentors:
- Must be in at least your 2nd year of undergrad.
- Must commit to attending every IGNITE Leadership Experience session on Wednesday nights from 3:45pm-6pm beginning September 19 until October 31.
- Must attend Student Mentor training on September 12 from 4pm-6pm.
- Have a passion for helping other students find their place at UIC.
Student Mentor applications are accepted on a rolling basis until September 5. To apply, visit: go.uic.edu/IgniteMentor.
Due to the nature of the program, any class/work/personal time conflict that overlaps with the program schedule makes you ineligible for participation. Please consider applying next term.
