UIC Designated “Voter Friendly Campus”
UIC Designated "Voter Friendly Campus"
In March 2017, UIC was designated as a Voter Friendly Campus, one of only 83 campuses in the country to earn the recognition.
To be awarded voter-friendly status, universities had to design a workable plan that engaged students, then execute it and evaluate to see if better practices could be implemented. UIC's plan, dubbed "UIC Votes", centered on voter registration, education, and participation. The efforts resulted in nearly 1600 new registered voters.
