About
My name is Dilay Heybeli, and I study Engineering Management with a minor in Professional Sales and Relationship Management at UIC. I have the privilege of serving twice as Student Body Vice President within the Undergraduate Student Government, collaborating with university leadership, and students to strengthen engagement. I also serve on advisory boards and hold executive roles in student organizations, including Flames Force. Beyond campus, I have participated in global projects, volunteered abroad, completed internships, and hosted interviews with professionals through UIC Radio. I am driven by applying my STEM background to strategic decision-making while keeping people at the center!
Dilay believes student engagement is one of the most meaningful aspects of the college experience and has dedicated herself to it alongside an incredible team of faculty, staff, and students across UIC Athletics through Flames Force, student organizations, and various initiatives. She sees these collective efforts as creating a sense of belonging, connection, and shared traditions that define college life. To her, college is one of the most formative chapters of a person’s life, and empowering others not only to experience it but to help shape it is deeply meaningful.
UIC is where she found a sense of home and family from her very first day. She was drawn to a school rich in tradition and strong connections, where she could grow while also contributing to the community. Being in the heart of Chicago, surrounded by opportunities and a dynamic professional environment aligned with her passions, made UIC the perfect fit. She hopes to carry the Flames not only during her time as a student but always as a proud alumna, continuing to support and celebrate its growth.
Dilay aspires to start and lead her own business after gaining meaningful experience and working on impactful projects. She believes she contributes most when she takes ownership of initiatives and leads them from vision to execution, supported by a team that shares and believes in the mission. Her goal is to build a product that genuinely makes life easier, alongside a team that is proud of their work and a community that values what they create. She is driven by the desire to build something purposeful, at the intersection of people and strategy.
