About
Priyanshi Kansara is a senior at UIC majoring in Biological Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Public Health. She is deeply involved in academic support, leadership, and community engagement, serving as a Senior Peer Learning Assistant for Organic Chemistry, an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Anatomy, and a Student Assistant with New Student and Family Programs. She conducts undergraduate research in an organic chemistry synthesis lab under Dr. Mohr and volunteers at UI Health. A founding member and Chief of Staff of WeDesi, she is committed to building inclusive communities and supporting student success.
Priyanshi is originally from Ahmedabad, India, where she developed strong values centered around community, education, and service—principles she continues to carry with her at UIC.
She believes student engagement and community service are important because they turn learning into action. Through her involvement on campus and in the community, she has been able to apply what she learns in the classroom to real people and real-world situations, particularly in healthcare and education settings.
She chose UIC because of its strong emphasis on diversity, research, and community impact. Being in Chicago has provided her with opportunities to work with diverse populations and gain meaningful hands-on experience.
