Maha Majjiga, from Chatham, Illinois, is a double major in Psychology and Biology with a minor in Spanish and a certificate in Medical Humanities. On campus, she serves as President of both Her Campus at UIC and Global Gardens at UIC, while also holding roles as Education and Commitment Chair for NMDP and as Vice President of Colleges Against Cancer. She intends to pursue a career in healthcare and is dedicated to advancing cultural competency and mental health advocacy.
Maha believes that student engagement and community service are important because they build essential skills and foster a sense of social responsibility. She recognizes that creating positive change helps pave the way for the future while developing into the kind of leader the world needs. Through her involvement in activities, she applies the topics she learns to real-world scenarios, enriching her education. This practical application plays a crucial role in how she leads student organizations and determines what the campus community needs to see more of.
